QA Level 2 Award for Community First Responders (RQF)
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification has been specifically designed to provide Learners with the knowledge and skills needed to administer initial emergency care at life-threatening incidents prior to the arrival of further medical assistance.
The QA Level 2 Award for Community First Responders (RQF) is ideal for those who are currently performing as, or aspiring to perform as, a community first responder.
Whilst achievement of this qualification confirms that Learners have met both the theoretical and practical requirements, this does not imply a ‘license to practice’ – the scope of practice for which will be determined by the organisation responsible for emergency first responders.
During this 2 day course, Learners will gain the necessary skills associated with the assessment, treatment and stabilisation of patients at life-threatening incidents. Topics covered include: the roles and responsibilities of the community first responder, assessing a scene at an emergency incident, managing an unresponsive patient, how to administer emergency oxygen, managing a patient with suspected major illness and more. For a more detailed overview of the topics covered, please download the Qualification Specification.
2 x Multiple Choice Question Papers (Theory assessment), 8 x Practical Assessments/Skills Test and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.
