We also understand that some Centres may wish to receive printed certificates and so we also offer this service at an additional cost (please see our Fees and Charges list for details). We aim to dispatch our printed certificates as soon as possible, with 86% of certificates currently being sent in just 2 days or less!

Yes, unlike many other Awarding Organisations, Qualsafe Awards does not charge Centres to add Trainers/IQAs to their Centre.
With Qualsafe Awards, Qualification Registration is free. However, some qualifications require a pre-approval visit, for more information, see our fees and charges.

Once you have completed Stage 2 of the Approval process, you will be assigned a dedicated Customer Relationship Executive (CRE). Your first contact with your CRE will be in setting up your introductory call. During this time your CRE will take you through our processes and will give you a guided tour of our state-of-the-art Customer Portal.

Your CRE is there to support you with any queries you have about Qualsafe Awards and our qualifications. You can choose to email them directly from your Customer Portal or can call them on 0330 660 0899.
As soon as you are approved, your dedicated CRE will ask you which qualification you would like 12 free Learner Registrations for. They will then add these to your account for you so that you can deliver your first course for free*!

To become a Trainer or IQA with Qualsafe Awards, you just need to complete a Trainer/IQA Application Form.

Please find below the general requirements for Trainers and IQAs. Please note that these can vary depending on the qualification as some can require a higher level of experience from a Trainer or IQA than others. For full information, please consult the Qualification Specification of the qualification you are looking to deliver.

Trainers may need the following:

• A regulated vocational or occupational qualification in the course topic being delivered, for example: A regulated First Aid at Work qualification. For the majority of non-First Aid courses, Trainers will need to be qualified to one Level higher than the qualification being delivered.
• A regulated Teaching and Assessing qualification, for example, a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. • First Aid qualifications only – For Trainers wishing to deliver First Aid qualifications, we require a Log of Experience of Teaching First Aid (see section 11 for more information).

IQAs may need the following:

• A regulated vocational or occupational qualification in the course topic being quality assured, for example: A regulated First Aid at Work qualification. For the majority of non-First Aid courses, IQAs will need to be qualified to one Level higher than the qualification being delivered. A log of experience may also be required for some qualifications. Please refer to the Qualification Specifications of the relevant qualifications for further information.
• A formal Internal Quality Assurance qualification (for example, the QA Level 4 Award in Understanding Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

Proof of attendance of an IQA CPD day.

Please note that a Log of Experience is also required from Trainers, Assessors and IQAs for Prehospital Care and Education & Training qualifications; please refer to the Qualification Specification for further details.

Please note that you must register/ be registered with a Qualsafe Awards approved Centre in order to become a Qualsafe Awards Trainer/IQA.
For an experienced Trainer to become a Qualsafe Awards approved First Aid Trainer, you will be required to provide a Log of Experience of Teaching First Aid that includes (within the last three years):

• At least 36 hours of teaching (equivalent to 2 x First Aid at Work courses)
• Assessment of 6 individual First Aid courses

This teaching and assessing experience can have been gained from either regulated or unregulated courses, or even from training in a prehospital care setting.

However, if you are new to training, you will need to provide evidence of the following:

Teaching:

• Delivering a regulated First Aid course (minimum 6 hours), through a QA approved Centre, that covers both theory and practical sessions under the direct supervision of a QA approved Trainer. The Trainer will then need to complete an Evidence of Competency form.
Or
• Delivering a regulated First Aid course (minimum 6 hours), through a QA approved Centre, that covers both theory and practical sessions under the direct supervision of a Qualsafe Awards External Quality Assurer (EQA) – please email info@qualsafeawards.org for more information.
Or (for unregulated courses)
• At least 36 hours of teaching (equivalent to 2 x First Aid at Work courses)

Assessing:

• Assessing on a First Aid course that covers at least 3 practical assessments and 1 MCQ assessment under the direct supervision of an approved Trainer.
Or
• Assessing on a First Aid course that covers at least 3 practical assessments and 1 MCQ assessment under the direct supervision of a Qualsafe Awards External Quality Assurer (EQA) – please email info@qualsafeawards.org for more information.
Or (for unregulated courses)
• Assessment of 6 individual First Aid courses
Yes, like many Awarding Organisations we ask that Centres spend a minimum amount with us each year to remain approved – this is £475.00 (+VAT).

This applies to the purchase of Learner Registrations from Qualsafe Awards only. However, a Centre’s Application Fee will also contribute to this figure in the first year, meaning that during a Centre’s first year with Qualsafe Awards, the minimum spend requirements are only £125 (+VAT).
